digital imaging to do list

– create the background for your portrait in photoshop

– have a PLAN OF ACTION for your photoshoot (who is doing what when you walk into the studio, where do the lights go, how does the model sit, who is moving the lights, setting up camera, etc…)

– practice blur, brush, image adjustments, filters, and other image altering techniques for those of you who need to use photoshop for editing after photo shoot

use the work of Tania Brassesco and Lazlo Passi Norberto to practice using photoshop editing tools.  choose one of their works and locate the original.  then open tania and lazlo’s version in photoshop and edit to look even more like original…

for example, how could you edit this reproduction to make it more like the original?

– write about the process

– write about what you felt was most important to recreate as close as possible to the original and write about what parts of the portrait your group felt you needed to change

– compare your reproduction to the original portrait and talk about how the meaning has changed (discuss all the components of portraiture and how those influence the meaning)
